Brendan + Jennifer’s Yacht Club Wedding

Brendan and Jennifer tied the knot on September 15, 2017 at Herrington on the Bay’s Yacht Club. Read more on their special day including photos from their wedding and the story of how they met, their wedding planning process, and what advice they’d give to other couples about to get married.

How They Met

As Rihanna once sang “I fell in love in a hopeless place”, it was much the same for the Bride and Groom, however… they fell in love in a hopeless ‘Ace’. In March of 2011, Brendan started his first day of training to work in the retail store Ace Hardware where he and Jennifer met for the first time. She happened to be running late for work and called in to let the store know — as fate would have it, Brendan took the call.

The Engagement Story

Jennifer had just graduated from Towson University in May 2015 and the next day they flew across the country to San Diego, California where Brendan had gotten down on one knee overlooking the water and proposed to Jennifer. Brendan had been planning this day for a long time and everything was absolutely perfect, according to Jennifer.

Wedding Planning Process

Brendan and Jennifer were engaged for almost two and half years. Both of their parents and Kim Hughes from Events by Kim were instrumental in making the wedding happen. The planning tool the couple primarily used was The Knot.

Big Day Recap

The big day was nothing short of amazing for Brendan and Jennifer! They both shared a lot of laughs that included silly pictures, dancing and drinking. Though they both shared some tears as well, Brendan couldn’t help but tear up when his bride walked down the aisle with her father and they both teared up reading their vows to each other!

“The day went by so fast and everything was memorable! It was truly the best day of our lives. We were really happy to see the whole day come together so perfectly in the years it took to plan our special day.” – Jennifer

What about the details?

With both the bride and groom in love with the beach, they chose a beachy theme. It was brought to life with the wedding colors, turquoise and coral. Each table had sand-colored tablecloths, coral napkins, pineapple center pieces, and various glass lanterns. The couple’s neighbor even hand-painted a 6-foot surf board with a sunset on it along with their names and wedding date. For the ceremony, they had a white tulle draped along the pergola with flowers on the corners of it to give it some color.

What wedding advice do you have for other couples?

The best advice these newlyweds could give is to remember that no wedding is perfect. Something is bound to go wrong, but that is okay. The wedding is over in a few hours, but the marriage will last a life time.
