Featured Vendor: Molly Humphrey, Artistic Imagez
We couldn’t do what we do without the support and dedication from our Preferred Professionals. As part of a new series, we want to periodically introduce you to our partners — starting with Molly Humphrey of Artistic Imagez.
About Artistic Imagez
Molly specializes in wedding photography and has been in business since 2004. She says what she loves most about her job is that she often gets to stay in my couple’s lives throughout the many mile stones they have together. Artistic Imagez studio is located in North Beach, Maryland, across from the boardwalk.
Why Herrington is a good partner
Molly said, “I love the vendors, and that I always feel like I am part of the team. I love that Herrington feels like a destination wedding right here in Maryland.”
Herrington on the Bay offers an inclusive space for couples, Molly said, and that the grounds, venue, and food are top tier. She said the chandelier in the Paradise ballroom really stands out for her. And it doesn’t hurt that her studio is just five miles south of the venue!
Oh, and Molly is a Herrington Bride too! “I love that I got married there too, and get to share this with my brides,” said Molly.
What advice do you have for couples who are looking for a photographer?
“Love them as a person too,” Molly said. “Love their work, but really connect with them. You need to like your photographer — we are with you all day. We are telling you to kiss, snuggle, get closer. We are joking around with you, and sharing in your joy. Hire someone who listens to you, but also trust them, and trust their vision. This is why you hired them.”
Do you have a favorite Herrington on the Bay story?
Molly said it’s her own story.
“My husband and I got married on Labor Day weekend since he was in the military and we weren’t sure if he’d be able to take off,” Molly said. “I planned most of our wedding from Charleston South Carolina and remember looking online at venues. I immediately stopped at Herrington’s website. I saw palm trees, water views, and essentially paradise.”
She was reassured by our rain plans and felt comfortable that her wedding would be beautiful no matter the weather. But they had sunny skies and perfect low 70’s temperatures.
Molly said the flexibility was key, too. “We started an hour late, because my maid of honor forgot her dress at the house. But Herrington just rolled with it, and if they were stressed, they certainly didn’t tell me. It was a perfect day and so many years later, I would do it all over again,” she said.
What wedding trends would you like to see more of?
Molly said bring on the boho styling! She’d love to see more couples including their fur babies in wedding photographs. And she’s a huge fan of the trend where couples have guests donate to their favorite charity instead of bringing gifts.
“No trend bothers me. I want couples to be happy with their decor — though I always love something new and different!”
