Wedding Day Emergency Kit

By Brittany Bergendahl, Event Coordinator
September 15, 2011

You want your wedding day to be perfect.  That's why it is important to be prepared for any unforseen situations by putting together a Wedding Day Emergency Kit.  You can’t always prevent mishaps, but you can certainly fix them easily if you have this handy kit with you!

Here are some of the much needed items that can help you and your bridal party make it through a mini wedding day crisis:

  • Bandaids
  • Dental Floss
  • Tweezers
  • Ibuprofen/Antacids
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Bobby Pins
  • Corsage Pins
  • Lint Roller
  • Tissues
  • Small Sewing Kit
  • Feminine Products
  • Emery Board
  • Static Spray
  • Lotion
  • Scissors
  • Tide Stick
  • Hair Spray
  • Eye Drops
  • Deodorant
  • Mints

You can find pre-made wedding day kits online (one of my favorites is www.msandmrs.com) or make it yourself by purchasing small travel sizes and keeping it all in a small purse or bag.  Ask one of your bridesmaids be in charge of bringing it wherever you go.  It is always best to be prepared and able to solve any last minute problems quickly!

 Winter Weddings
by Jodi Jackson, Catering Manager

A wedding in the middle of winter?  Why not!  Many brides and grooms want to get married in the warmer months.  You can do something different for your wedding.

January is the perfect month to start off a new year and a new life together.  You could have a winter wonderland theme and decorate with sparkling snowflakes, ice sculptures, and shimmering blue and silver linens.  Picture yourself walking down the aisle in a beautiful snow-white satin gown with a fur trimmed wrap!  Your guests could wear their finest formal attire.

February is also a fantastic month for weddings–it is the most romantic and love-filled month of all.  Think of all the decorating possibilities!  Consider a hearts and chocolate theme, with a chocolate fountain dessert and a candy station for your guests to pick their own sweet treats to bring home.

Many wedding sites have special packages and discounts during the winter months, which can add up to significant savings for you!   Also, it is likely that more of your guests will be able to attend your winter wedding than a summer event.
