How will guests find my wedding at Herrington on the Bay?
We can provide reproducible directions to our facility to you. Directions can also be found on our web site, and we also suggest that guests seek Google, MapQuest, or GPS directions. The physical address to our Yacht Club Venue is 7151 Lake Shore Drive Rose Haven, MD 20714 and the physical address to our Paradise Ballroom Venue is 668 Friendship Road, Friendship MD 20758.
Does Herrington provide a wedding ceremony coordinator?
A wedding ceremony coordinator can be arranged with one of our preferred vendors, but is not included in the cost estimates unless specifically requested. Couples are also welcome to contract with their own ceremony coordinator.
In the cost summary, it appears as though labor costs are taxed. Is this correct?
Yes. Maryland state law requires that any labor cost applied to catered parties for 12 or more guests must be taxed at the 6% Maryland state tax rate.
Is there lodging on site?
Are deposits refundable?
Once you have reserved our services and property for your event, we no longer offer the date or location to other guests. Therefore, we may not resell the date if your event is cancelled, and cannot refund your deposit.
Is Wedding or Event insurance required by Herrington?
No. However, we do suggest at least getting a quote for your event to see if it fits your planning. Insurance can help safeguard your financial investment. www.websafe.com
May I have my wedding rehearsal at my ceremony site (Polynesian Lawn or Herring Bay Garden)?
Herrington will endeavor to make accommodations for you to rehearse on the Polynesian Bridal Lawn or Herring Bay Bridal Garden. For even greater convenience, ask about hosting your rehearsal dinner at Herrington on the Bay as well.
Will there be enough parking for all my wedding guests?
Is electricity available at the Polynesian Lawn and Herring Bay Garden?
Yes, there is power within 25 feet of the lawns and it is available for podiums, musicians, and other ceremony needs.
What if I plan an outdoor ceremony and it rains?
Rest assured that Herrington on the Bay provides a rain plan for your ceremony. We can quickly relocate your wedding inside of the venue that you have reserved for your reception at no extra cost.
Who supplies the ceremony chairs on the Polynesian Lawn and Herring Bay Garden?
Herrington on the Bay furnishes white folding chairs for wedding ceremonies. These chairs will be cleaned for your wedding 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
How many guests can be seated in the Harbourview Ballroom of the Herrington Yacht Club (entrance level)?
We can accommodate 125 guests seated guests in the Harbourview Ballroom (entrance level of the Herrington Yacht Club).
How many guests can be seated in the Chesapeake Ballroom of the Herrington Yacht Club (upper level)?
We can accommodate 150 guests seated guests in the Chesapeake Ballroom (2nd level of the Herrington Yacht Club).
How many guests can be seated in the Paradise Ballroom (outside tent facility)?
We can accommodate 225 seated guests in the Paradise Ballroom.
Who provides the flowers and centerpieces?
Each client is offered a complimentary consultation with our Event Stylist, who can provide centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, bridal arch decorations, etc. at competitive prices. Herrington permits each client to provide their own unique flowers and centerpieces if desired.
May I bring my own food, linens or other rental items?
Herrington on the Bay is a full-service caterer and we exclusively provide all food, linens, and other services on our properties. We do so at the best value possible for our clients.
What will the Herrington staff wear at my event?
Herrington’s staff members wear all black catering attire. A more casual style uniform may be worn upon request.
Am I expected to tip the service staff?
While gratuities are always appreciated, this is a personal choice that each guest can make. The labor charge included contributes to the hourly wages of the entire event staff and is not distributed as gratuities or tips.
What happens to any leftover food?
Herrington on the Bay Catering is a licensed food service facility, and the Anne Arundel County Health Department requires that all food be handled only by our professional staff. Any leftover food must be properly disposed at Herrington on the Bay, so there are no doggie bags.
Does Herrington allow outside caterers?
Herrington is a full service wedding venue providing exclusive food and beverage services to anyone hosting an event at our site. Aside from supplying your own wedding cake, no other food or beverages may be provided by outside suppliers.
Can I bring my own liquor, beer, wine and/or champagne?
Herrington on the Bay owns the liquor license for the property. Therefore, if your event is held at our property, you may not bring your own spirits or liquor.
